Tags – increase writing pace

Writing content can take its fair share of time.

However, with a few tweaks to your process, you can get on track to pick up pace.

Here are 5 such tips to help you out:

1. Work with a List

Instead of sitting down to just write, without thinking about what you are actually going to write about, keep a list of potential topics.

How about keeping a notebook or even a word file, and noting down ideas as they come?

These ideas can come anywhere from talking to a potential client to something you see on your social media feed.

In most cases, coming up with a topic can take as much time as actually writing. So, having ideas already available will help you significantly reduce the time looking around.

2. Let Your Ideas Brew

Once you have an idea, let it simmer.

You will be surprised by how much of the content will write itself if you just don’t force it.

And, once you know you have enough to go, you will be surprised to see that just putting down words is the quickest part of the process.

3. Keep it Short

Gone are the days when content writing had to match journal articles; 5,000 to 10,000 words.

These days, you will rarely see a blog that crosses 1,000 words in fact.

For us, most blogs end up between 500 and 800 words, that can be consumed in under 3 minutes.

So, keep your content short, make it snappy, and don’t let the quality slip.

And, for the sake of this blog, save yourself time too; not many people will sit to read 1,000s of words.

4. Eliminate Distractions

Now that your writing process is streamlined internally, it’s time to fix your surroundings.

In other words, get rid of any distractions when you put your head down to actually write.

You will be surprised by how quickly you can get the content done when you are just focusing on the content itself.

5. Stop Overthinking

Finally, stop overthinking.

Your content does not need to break ground and set new records; your content just needs to add a little bit of value. That’s it.

Plus, once you have an idea, instead of reevaluating it, get the job done. Some content is better than no content.
