Furthermore, they emphasised that the series’ was the embodiment of Lexie’s adventurous spirit, the Explorer’s versatility, and Ford’s commitment to innovation.

Collaboration Behind the Camera

The concept for ‘Charge Around the Globe’ was initially conceived by Ford’s former creative agency, AMV BBDO, but it was brought to life by Wieden+Kennedy London and its in-house production studio, WracK.

The series was helmed by BAFTA-winning director Chris Faith and executive producer Mark Saben, whose combined expertise ensured the series not only captured the technical prowess of the Explorer EV but also told a compelling human story.

Wieden+Kennedy’s creative director highlighted the unique approach of the series, expressing that this wasn’t just a campaign to tell the story of the Ford Explorer EV. It was about showing what it can achieve in real-world conditions, with someone from the audience – Lexie – taking on an incredible challenge.

Addressing EV Scepticism

Prime Video has positioned ‘Charge Around the Globe’ as more than just an adventure story; it’s a response to growing consumer concerns about the capabilities of electric vehicles.

The series showcases the Explorer EV’s performance under diverse conditions, hoping to alleviate fears about range, charging availability, and adaptability.

As Lexie Limitless tackles deserts, mountains, and bustling cities, viewers witness firsthand how an EV can meet and exceed expectations, making electric travel more approachable and inspiring.

A Vision for the Future of Travel

From its inception, ‘Charge Around the Globe’ set out to be more than a traditional automotive campaign. The creative team envisioned content that stops viewers in their tracks, compelling them to watch and engage.

Underscoring the confidence Ford has in its electric Explorer, the creative director emphasised that it’s exciting to create something where the vehicle steps back and lets the journey speak for itself.
